https://journals.lww.com/ajg/fulltext/2024/10001/s223_association_of_marijuana_use_and_the_severity.224.aspx
Confusing eh? And what does the pancreas even do?
It’s actually a two-faced organ. As a part of the digestive system, it produces enzymes that help us break down food, especially proteins. But as a member of the endocrine/hormone system, it produces the hormone insulin that controls blood sugar levels. So with the endocannabinoid system being so intimately tied up with both your digestive system & your hormone system, it makes sense that cannabis could have varying effects on this dual-use organ.

PS: For this week’s sublime singer of bossa nova, Elizete Cardoso’s ‘Canção Do Amor Demais’. Known to Brazilian audiences as ‘A Divina’ (the Divine One), she not only launched the bossa nova movement with this album & was one of great samba singers of all time, she was also an actress of great renown & the first singer to interpret the classical music of the legendary Heitor Villa-Lobos ("the single most significant creative figure in 20th-century Brazilian art music") at the Municipal Theaters of São Paulo & Rio. After each of those performances, she received a 15-minute standing ovation. Producing over 40 albums in her lifetime, Elizete Cardoso certainly deserved her other nickname of ‘A Magnifica’ (the Magnificent One).
