“At the neural level, the CUD group showed decreased ventromedial prefrontal cortex activity, as well as reduced activity in the culmen, posterior cingulate, and superior temporal gyrus during the encoding of prospective effort and reward cues (Cue1) respectively, compared with controls. Conversely, the CUD group showed increased parietal lobule, superior temporal gyrus, fusiform gyrus, middle occipital gyrus, cingulate gyrus, and claustrum activity during the integration phase of the task (Cue2) relative to controls. Exploratory correlations revealed that bilateral ventral striatum activity during prospective effort cues was associated with the proportion of accepted high-effort and high-reward trials, predominantly driven by the CUD group. Altogether, these findings indicate fronto-striatal but also posterior cortical processing alterations during prospective signaling and during effort-reward information integration.”

Sugar leaves are the little leaves that grow out of the cannabis buds. Though they're usually removed by trimmers, they're a rich source of cannabinoids, terpenes & flavonoids. They got their name because the resin-filled trichomes on their surface make them look like they have a thick coating of sugar.

PS: For this week’s old-timey guitar album, ‘The Fabulous Steel Guitar Sound of Pete Drake’, where he helped to popularize the voice box where “the guitar is your vocal cords, and your mouth is the amplifier.” One of the pioneers of the steel guitar in rock music, Drake worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Carl Perkins & Elvis Presley. While only recording a few albums of his own, he was one of the most sought-after studio musicians of the 1960s. The son of a Pentecostal preacher in Georgia, hearing Jerry Byrd's steel guitar at the Grand Old Opry inspired him to buy his own. He moved to Nashville where he was soon playing for Elvis as well as on Dylan’s beloved country album ‘Nashville Skyline’. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame & the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. But in his early 50s, four decades of smoking caught up with him & emphysema led to a death at just the age of 55. He’s buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville with an inscription that reads "His Courage, His Smile, His Talent and His Love, Warms Our Hearts" and "For Pete's Sake."
