This is what happens when you restrict yourself to the “gold standard” double-blind clinical trials. You decide that cannabis only works for the nausea of chemotherapy (a tiny bit) & the weight loss of HIV. Nothing else. You say things like, “evidence from randomized clinical trials does not support the use of cannabis or cannabinoids for most conditions for which it is promoted, such as acute pain and insomnia”. You dismiss all of the surveys of patients in the trenches & case reports from doctors across the world about what they found works for them. It’s a damn shame. Unscientific too.
⚠️ Harms ⚠️
For CBD & potential prescription medication interactions, a survey found that the majority did not know that 1+ medications in their home could interact with CBD, with the most common categories being medications for anxiety, anti-hypertensives & diabetes & the categories most at risk for a severe interaction being immunosuppressants, anticoagulants & anti-epileptics

That being said, despite all these potential interactions, the only drug I ever remember seeing a case report of an actual interaction with, besides epilepsy medications, was warfarin(Coumadin) – and as one doc told me, “Everything fucking interacts with warfarin.”
In a survey of parents with CBD in their home, the same researchers as above seemed concerned that parents in a survey believed a number of true statements about CBD, such as it being non-addictive, not causing high feelings, not being fatal at high doses& being safe for children

PS: For this week’s dirty blues, the album ‘Party Time’ by Julia Lee & her Boyfriends. Born into a Missouri family of musicians, Lee was playing piano by the age of 10 & learning from ragtime pianists like Charlie Watts & Scrap Harris. For the first 15 years of her career, she worked with her brother George & her first breakout hits were the 1929 recordings “He’s Tall Dark and Handsome“ & “Won’t You Come Over to My House“. The name of her band was said to be coined by music producer Dave Dexter Jr because of the succession of men in Lee’s life that won her heart but then took her money. During the Great Depression, because of her dislike of touring after a serious car crash in 1930, she became the resident performer at Milton’s Tap Room in Kansas City until 1950. With her signature risqué songs of double entendres, Lee’s popularity rose across the 1940s & culminated with singing “King Size Papa” at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner before President Truman (the president I imagine least likely to enjoy a bawdy song). She passed away of a heart attack in her sleep at just the age of 56.
