An evergreen note on reading restricted papers:
First stop for seeing if there’s a free version of a paper, use the Google Scholar Chrome extension (Mac version), Google Scholar itself or try ResearchGate.
Three other helpful browser extensions are: Unpaywall, Open Access Button & PaperPanda
For the infamous backdoor, use Sci-Hub – the pirated papers repository (Chrome extension here). This works better for older paper than the stuff that just came out.
For Twitter users, send a Tweet of the paper’s title with the hashtag #icanhazpdf. It works because people are beautiful(ish).
Finally, email the author. They’re almost always happy to oblige because, thanks to the predatory academic publishing system, they don’t make a dollar off of their papers.

Chiral = handedness. Molecules, like you & elephants, can be right-handed or left-handed. But in cannabinoids, they often have several other axes that they can also have handedness around. As you can imagine, separating them is hard.
Thanks.

PS: For almost four years, I've been highlighting an album a week at the bottom of a newsletter. In that time, my greatest discovery - and the music I keep coming back to - is that of Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou. This week, she passed away at the age of 99. Known as the barefoot nun, she became Ethiopia’s piano queen.
It was an Ethiopique album created by the French musicologist Francis Falceto which brought her to a broader audience in the West. After many hardships that made her say, “Sadness was always next to me like a friend,” Emahoy’s piano somehow seems to get to the soul of what it means to be human. Of all the music I’ve ever found, this is some of the most special. Rest in Peace dear Emahoy.
